Concentration matters
In a compact cabin on a long route, a heavy composition (more than 15–20% aromatic substances) begins to oppress after 15–20 minutes. For a small volume, lighter bases with a lower concentration are selected. A spacious crossover or minivan will withstand a richer chord.
Ventilation and climate control
Powerful air conditioning accelerates the dispersion: the aroma is "eaten" faster than in a recirculated cabin. In such cars, the master recommends more stable woody-musky bases or a slightly higher concentration of fixatives - within the limits allowed by IFRA.

The salon is a closed space, and this is the main thing that determines the requirements for car perfume.
What is IFRA?
The International Fragrance Association sets maximum permissible concentrations of each fragrance ingredient depending on the type of product and the conditions of use. For products in a confined space - such as car perfume - the limits are stricter than for perfumes for skin or textiles. Each formula at The Elixir Perfume Laboratory is tested for compliance with the current IFRA standard before bottling.
Why is this important for cars?
The volume of the cabin is from 2 to 5 m³. Even a slight excess of concentration gives rapid saturation, which instead of relaxation causes a headache or irritation of the mucous membranes. Therefore, we select not only notes, but also the maximum concentration - separately for compact cars and for spacious crossovers.
